︎ stability : double body, footed base, hydraulic adjustments

︎ sanitation : single-use and easy-sanitize cushion options, stainless steel body, minimal cracks + crevices

how could a small piece of furniture make the entire tattooing process easier?

armrests are essential in tattoo studios, supporting both clients and artists during sessions. However, traditional designs often prioritize function over aesthetics and durability. Hoshi is the result of extensive market research and interviews.
our goal: to create an armrest that meets the needs of both artists and clients seamlessly. Materials are carefully chosen for practicality and style, including interior hydraulic systems for easy adjustments and low-reflectivity, satin finish stainless steel for easy use and maintenance. The double-body configuration also enhances stability.
Hoshi revolutionizes cushioning with removable options: disposable paper or sanitizeable leather, prioritizing comfort and cleanliness in professional settings.
in summary, Hoshi represents the pinnacle of innovative design and user-focused functionality, raising the bar for tattoo studio equipment.

︎ metal : copper
︎ patina : liver of sulfur
︎ ring size : 8

Butterfly Rest was the final project for my first Metals + Jewelry class, taught by metalworker and professor Melis Augenbaum.
the hollow ring is designed to appear as the profile of a buttefly landing on the wearer’s finger. Made using copper, sanded to 800, filed for a pillowy effect, and darkened with liver of sulfur.

︎ form : geometric, asymmetric, soft corners
︎ color : lavender
︎ material : acrylic

the Kevin Murphy pendant light was born out of the prompt to create a branded light, in a course taught by professor and designer Carly Hagins.
design language important to the haircare brand is a diffused-light, soft-surface appearance, bright, eye-catching colors, beveled angles and cutoffsm and asymmetry.
two designs are shown here -- one symmetric, and with multiple layers, the second asymmetric, with only one. the cylindrical shape rests atop the bulb to support the frame.
